Audi determined to launch many RSs in India

Gear up for more RS models. After the recent launch of RS7 Sportback, Audi will likely launch RS Q8 next followed by other RS models.

The company has announced RS7 won't be the only RS model running in India this year. At the launch of Audi RS7 Sportback Audi India head, Balbir Singh Dhillon said, "As a brand, we are focused on bringing exciting products for our customers and I am happy to share that the all-new Audi RS7 Sportback isn't the only RS model scheduled for 2020."

The RS Q8

The faster version of standard Q8, RS Q8 is loaded with a twin-turbo V8 engine(paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system) which produces 600 hp power and 800 Nm torque. Claimed to go from 0-100kph in 3.8 seconds, this SUV comes with an *-speed automatic gearbox. It comes loaded with many cool features and design changes that were supposed to be in standard Q8.
It will rival the likes of Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Lamborghini Urus, and BMW X6 M.

Other RS models

The upgraded Audi RS5 will come with a 2.9-litre, 450hp V6 engine, and a few visual upgrades and will available in Coupe and Sportback forms.
The new RS6 is loaded with 4.0 litre, 600hp mild-hybrid V8 engine which is the same as the RS Q8 model.
Along with these, the duo of new-gen RS Q3 and RS Q3 Sportback will also come to India with a 2.5-litre, five-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates a power of 400 hp.

Royal Enfield 650 FT To Be Launched Soon This Year

The oldest global motorcycle brand in continuous production, The Royal Enfield which is an Indian motorcycle manufacturing company based in Chennai is going to launch its Royal Enfield 650 Flat track on August 28 in the US. It will debut in the famous AFT i.e American flat track that is to start in August.




This vehicle and some others were supposed to be launched in Daytona American Flat Track March 2020 but got delayed due to the pandemic. This vehicle would be equipped with a BS6 compliant engine and the company has made upgrades to improve the bike's flat track performance. This is a specially made bike with production twins, having based on the famous Interceptor 650.
It would be ridden by Johnny Lewis an AFT racer. He's also a Royal Enfield Slide School Instructor at the AFT.
He said in a recent press release that they are working on the model and he's suggested some improvements and hopes to come up with something really promising.


Later this year in October four lady drivers will join lewis and showcase the new improved interceptor 650 for the Dixie Speedway event on October 2 and 3 and also at Daytona beach on October 15 and 16.
Lewis said that "We're already seeing great results from the motorcycle. the team at harris performance and Royal Enfield has done a great job with the chassis, and we have already begun working on small adjustments based on my feedback. with the way the schedule is working out with small tracks, we could surprise many people." With this comment creating huge suspense, people are eagerly waiting for this vehicle to hit the commons.


BS6 version of Xtreme 200S and Xpulse 200T to be launched soon!

Hero MotoCorp is ready to launch the BS6 compliant version of its recently launched Xtreme 200S dual-purpose motorcycle. The launch is supposed to take place within a month and there won't be any other mechanical change in the bikes.

Launched in May 2020, both Xtreme 200S and Xpulse 200T will get updated to comply with the new government norms and this modification will cost an extra  Rs. 6000, summing up the price of these bikes to be between Rs. 1.04 and Rs. 1.08 lakh(ex-showroom).

Drawbacks

An earlier version used to produce 18.4 bhp @ 8000 rpm against 17.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm because of the BS4 compliant,199.6 cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. But the new BS6 compliant version will produce 17.8 bhp @ 8000rpm against 16.45 Nm @ 6,500 rpm which is 0.3 bhp and 0.65 Nm less. This will slightly affect the performance but it really doesn't matter.

Also, there will be an oil-cooling system in this version instead of the water-cooling system previously available in the BS4 engine.
Things will be the same for the new Xpulse 200T. Adding to this there will an updated exhaust system which is attached with an additional catalytic convertor. There few more changes made so as to comply with the BS6 norms.

There is a new special edition to the Compass SUV series by Jeep and is named, Night Eagle. The teaser of this mid-spec Longitude Plus trim level SUV was released on it's official Instagram handle.

Black Color Scheme


The special edition of Compass Night Eagle will feature an all-black paint scheme and will have gloss black finishing on the grille and around the window, along with a black Jeep badge.
This black scheme is even applicable to the 18-inch alloy wheels which will have a black gloss finish. The new infotainment system will feature black gloss trim around it.

Engine

This SUV features a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol powertrain which delivers 163 hp power and 250 Nm of torque. While the 2.0-litre diesel version churns out a power of 173 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Both versions are offered with a 6-speed manual transmission. Other than this the diesel version is available with a 9-speed torque-converter option and the petrol version is offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic option.

New features

Jeep Compass Night Eagle will come with an all-new 8.4-inch Unconnect touchscreen infotainment system accompanied with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other key features include a push-button start with keyless entry, automatic climate control, Xenon projector headlamps, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, ESP, hill-start assist, and much more.
It might cost a little higher than the Longitudinal Plus variant which is quite similar to it.

In an interaction with Autocar India, Sharad Agrawal, Head, Lamborghini India said, "Urus today contributes to over 50% of our overall sales in the country. We began deliveries for the Urus in the last quarter of 2018. Since then, till the beginning of the lockdown in March 2020, we delivered almost one Urus per week which has set a new benchmark of success in the super-luxury segment in India".

Things you should know about Night Edition

The first thing that we noticed is its sporty look. Hyundai has tried to uplift the scale of this model by giving it a sports car type look. Hyundai Kona gets an interior with a black gloss accent. Also, the door handles, aluminium-alloy sports pedal, and even the outside rear-view mirrors get gloss black accents. The new paint scheme is accompanied by 18-inch semi-gloss black alloy wheels with a new design. Available in three options - Galactic Ray, Ultra Black, and Chalk White.
The engine department is governed by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 176 bhp of power and 264 Nm of peak torque. This engine is attached to a standard 7-speed dual-clutch (DCT) automatic transmission. 

Hyundai Kona Night Edition model revealed

Available in September!

Hyundai Kona 'Night Edition' will be launched in the US in September 2020. Later on, it will be released in other international markets. While there is no particular information about when it will be available in India, Hyundai will continue the sale of Kona electric SUV.

Kia Sonet global debut on 7 August
Till now Kia has launched only two models, Seltos and Carnival in the Indian market. The turnover this year has been exceptionally well and that to from just two models. If they come up with more then there is a chance they can surely beat Hyundai and Tata in the upcoming years. And they are surely trying to seize the deal with the new upcoming model, Kia Sonet SUV.

The concept of this sub-compact SUV was proposed globally at the Auto Expo 2020 and it is supposed to go public on 7th August. To increase the hype, Kia has published a few images of the upcoming Sonet.
From the image, it's clearly visible that Sonet gets its trademark tiger-nose grille, clamshell bonnet, floating roof rails, a 3D stepwell geometric grille mesh, swept-back headlamps with LED DRLs, flared wheel arches, and much more.

Expected Features

As per TimesNow, the upcoming Kia Sonet will have more than 50 features which include - automatic AC, ambient lighting, electric sunroof, automatic headlamps, powered driver seats, a wireless charging pad, voice assistant which gets activated by saying "Hello Kia", etc.

Engine

As of now, the details regarding the engine aren't disclosed, but it's being speculated that the engine will be provided with options similar to that in Hyundai Venue. The engines offered in Hyundai Venue are - 
The 1.2-litre petrol unit produces 82 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque and is coupled with 5-speed manual gearbox.
The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 119 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque and is coupled with 6-speed manual gearbox or iMT transmission or a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 99bhp and 240 Nm of peak torque and is coupled with 6-speed manual transmission only.

Rivals

 Sonet has been made to compete in the sub-compact SUV segment with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, etc.
It will be available for a price somewhere between Rs.8 lakh and Rs.12 lakh.

Future projects

After the Sonet company will expand its line up by introducing a new compact MPV, electric, and hybrid vehicles. The MPV is supposed to compete with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.





A London court on Monday dismissed an appeal by JLR, owned by India’s Tata Motors. The UK Intellectual Property Office had found the shapes it sought to get protected weren’t distinctive enough.

The judge upheld the findings by the IP Office that while differences in design may appear significant to some specialists, they “may be unimportant, or may not even register, with average consumers."

About Ineos Grenadier

Grenadier is named after Jim Ratcliffe’s favourite pub in Belgravia, London. Two new factories are being built, one in Portugal for chassis-making and one in South Wales for final assembly.




The Grenadier continues with a boxy design inspired from Defender and  is similar in size to the latest Mercedes-Benz G-class and is powered by a  range of six-cylinder BMW diesel and petrol engines. .

Jim Ratcliffe who is founder  of British petrochemicals group Ineos, is a steadfast devotee of the old Defender. He came up with the idea of building a replacement of his own when Jaguar Land Rover declined to sell him its designs or tooling to continue when production of last generation Defender stopped.
