After a long waiting, the German carmaker Audi is all set with its new gift to the Indian Roads. This time it will be Q2 India which is going to be launched in September this year. The car was first premiered at the 2016 Geneva Motor show and is going to be a slot below the Q3 model which is also going to be launched in upcoming months. This new member of the Q series is going to be the smallest crossover SUV in the family. So let's catch a closer glimpse at the car.

Dimensions and variants

The German automaker has given it a smaller size than others in the series. By this, the company has intended to pique the interest of buyers having a greater inclination towards style than the practical uses. The length, width, and height of the car are 4.19 meters, 1.79 meters, and 1.51 meters respectively. The car is expected to available in 5 variants. These are Standard, Premium, Premium Plus 1, Premium Plus 2, and Technology. 

Specifications

 

The car has many significant features including crisp Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster, turbine AC vents, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Although they can be considered as just the peak of the iceberg. For now, the company is only giving the petrol-only option to the customers. The car would run on a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine. It will generate 190PS of power and 320Nm of torque. As for the transmission, Q2 will have a seven-speed S Tronic transmission.

Price and Rivals

 

The estimated price of the Audi Q2 in India is around Rs 35 lakhs. It is going to clash with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1, and the Volvo XC40.
