Soon people of Kerala will see Tata Nexon EVs on road with Police logo on it. Kerala  Motor Vehicle Department(MVD) has just ordered 65 Tata Nexon EV SUVs. These SUVs will be provided to 65 squads of Safe Kerala Project, which ensures road discipline on the state's roads and enforces motor vehicle rules and regulations, along with safe traffic.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited(EESL) has acquired these EVs under a dry lease system and will maintain them as well. Following this there will be a decent increase in number of charging stations with each squad getting its own charging center. Further these EVs will be equipped with enforcement-specific gadgets like radar speed sensors, cameras and more which will help in patrolling.

As per reports this deal will be valid for 8 years and MVD will pay the whole amount by itself.
