The South Korean multinational motor giant has launched a newer version of the Hyundai Elantra mainly focussing on the BS6 norms of the Indian Government. BS6 can be a confusing term for some, well it simply stands for Bharat Standard Six which is the current pollutant emission norms set in effect by the authorities which are quite a bit stricter than BS4.
Well, Elantra now has five variants with three petrol engines and two diesel. The BS4 compliant version which had a 1.6L diesel engine has now been replaced by 115hp,1.5L engine. A noteworthy mention here is that the same engine is shared by Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta. Earlier the 1.6L engine made 128hp and 250Nm of torque but the new version has 115 hp coupled with 250Nm torque. Special features include 6-speed manual transmission and automatic transmission and drive mode select for unmatched enthralling sporty performance and eco mode for unbeatable fuel economy.
One of the prime concerns of the Elantra 2020 has been its high fuel efficiency. It should be also noted that the BS4 and BS6 engines do have a minor difference but the overall mileage and performance remain almost the same.
Details of all variants are given underneath:-
One can expect something out of the unexpected and definitely in a good way as Hyundai boasts about it being different than the rest.
