We all know about Tata motors ambition to have a part in every addressable segment in the market.
Continuing on the strategy, Tata appears to be preparing a brand new MPV to take on Suzuki Ertiga and Mahindra Marazzo.

Necessity for a new MPV

Tata already has a premium MPV in the market in the form of Hexa to take on Toyota Innova Crysta. But it left a huge gap in below 10 lakh MPV market which is now being ruled by Suzuki Ertiga and its premium variant XL-6.

About the MPV

The new MPV from Tata will most probably be based on the ALFA-arc platform. The same platform that currently underpins Altroz. The MPV will be influenced by Tata's IMPACT 2.0 design language.
The powertrain will most likely be borrowed from Nexon including the 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5 L diesel engine but in a slightly detuned state. Also the 1.6L in development for Harrier might also be employed in the detuned state.

The EV version can also be made using Ziptron tech. But production of EV depends upon the future demand for electric vehicles in India.

Price

Expect it to be priced to undercut the rivals as has been the USP of Tata Motors. The exact launched date cannot be confirmed now but given the number of models in development by Tata Motors, the launch will take at least a year or more.
