This year hasn't been good for the automotive industry, especially March and April as there was no production-no sale, for companies and there's no need to tell you the reason.

After the government granted permissions for production in May, there has been some sale in the month of June. But this is nothing compared to the same month of last year.
This table below will show you what the automotive industry is going through.

Despite the dip in sales, the king still remains the king. Maruti has had the highest sales followes by Hyundai, Tata and others.
Honda has suffered the most. The Year-on-Year de-growth is the highest, 82 percent. Honda is followed by Nissan and Toyota.

Coming back to the two giants, Maruti and Hyundai. Though their YOY de-growth is less than Honda but still they have lost almost 50 percent of their sales thus badly affecting the whole market.
These two companies together sold 73,044 cars which is 79,977 less than last year's record. Clearly they run the market and their loss changes the stats of the whole market.

Overall the whole sector suffered a dip of 48 percent. Though the stats are discouraging, the good news is that the pandemic hasn't stopped customers from buying the vehicles.
Let's hope that things get better with time.
